I really don't see what's such a big deal about these machines. I've not used detergent in my machine for years, and it washes perfectly well. I've got a couple of wash balls in there (not convinced they make any difference but I ahve them so might as well use them) and I add the odd splash of vinegar. Other than that, nothing,
