Most definitely. In fact I like to correct people when they say that we are destroying the planet. The planet will be just fine. But if we're not careful, it won't tolerate humanity much longer.

I was surprised to see Farley Mowat on tv last night (Canadian show called The Hour) saying something similar: that all will be better for the earth when we are no longer around and nature can revert to it's former glory.
