housefinch, u have inspired me to attempt riding my bike to work, 16 hilly miles one way, atleast once a week this spring! have my bike already to go and switched out my off road tires for street treads... i'll let u know how it goes!
as for the quote... the true EV-1 had over 100 mile range on one charge! and that was with an outdated battery! with the newer lithium batteries they were predicting well over 200 mile range! that is more than 90% of people drive in one day.. the average miles driven per day in the US is only 29!!
frustrates me to no end! that means 100% zero emissions for these cars!
plus charging them off hours or with alternate energy.. grrrrrr
