The CEER brings together the independent national energy regulators of Europe.
The CEER acts as a focal point for contacts between national energy regulators and is their interface at a European level with the European Commission, in particular DG Transport and Energy, DG Competition and DG Research, on energy issues.
The overall aim of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) is to facilitate the creation of a single competitive, efficient and sustainable internal market for gas and electricity in Europe. CEER also maintains close working relations with regulatory authorities in North America and Central and Eastern Europe.
CEER now has twenty-nine members: the 27 EU Member States: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and United Kingdom plus Norway and Iceland.

The CEER is a "not-for-profit association" established under Belgian law. It has a small Brussels-based Secretariat. To contact the CEER, or for more information about its Board and Members see About CEER.
