This contest is open to all members of the Aboutmyplanet community and it's forum.

The concept is simple, as are the rules.

Rules:

1. Each member can submit one(1) photo for the contest. Photos can be of anything except for the following:
- Pornographic in nature
- Must contain NO nudity

2. Photos submitted must be your own work and be original. No photoshop enhancements are allowed.


Voting will take place in the following manner:

Each member can vote once for their favorite photo. All votes must be submitted by PM to myself, and a confirmation PM will be sent out to each member who votes.

Votes will be tallied and the results posted after the contest closes.



This contest opens at 12:01am EST on Friday, April 13th, 2007, and will run until 11:59 pm EST on Friday May 25, 2007.


Multiple submissions, altered photos, and/or failure to follow the above mentioned rules will result in a member's disqualification from the contest.



Prizes:

Grand prize- The winner will receive their photo in 8x10 format framed. Their photo will also be posted on the forum and on the main site.

Second prize- The runner up will recieve their photo in 5x7 format framed. Their photo will also be posted on the forum.

Honorable mention will go to the next 2 winners, with their photos posted on the forum.

This photo was taken when I was at the Vatican while in Rome. It happened to be a beautiful day!

I took this in the early morning in cape cod. In certain weather, the water retains lots of heat in the summer and on some early mornings you get a really thick fog coming off the water.

Took this photo on a beautiful morning in Tikal, Guatemala. Was traveling there after working in Costa Rica for some time. The ceiba tree is the national tree of Guatemala. It is linked to ancient Mayan religion and thought to be the symbol of the sacred world-tree. This ceiba found in the Parque Nacional Tikal is covered with epiphytes, plants that live off the air.

I just re-read the rules, since we can post pictures up until the 27th and we can only vote once, maybe we should give our votes after the 27th. Like I said, if we can only vote once, we probably want to see all the submissions before voting.

Or am I misinterpreting the rules? Sorry. Rules are not my strength. =)
