What is the IMDB? I've never heard of it before. As for the movie, it is about the ice packs melting and creating unusual storms in the Atlantic. It doesn't take long for New York to be completely underwater and frozen.

I didn't know anything like that existed! Now I know where to go to check on new movies or movies there are rumors about. Thank you very much for explaining.

I bought the DVD, Roguegal. It's pretty scary as a scenario when it comes down to it. While I doubt we'll see that in our lifetimes, I don't think it's never going to happen. Our politicians seem hell bent on hurrying it along.

America is a mess these days, in all sorts of ways. Economically, ecologically, the wars we fight, the way we treat our educational system. It's a mess.

I have high hopes for the next administration. I just hope my last shred of respect for the democratic process doesn't leave me hating the country I once loved and defended.

I agree. What are our government's PROBLEM with signing the Kyoto agreement. I mean, it's pretty much of a "no brainer," isn't it?

Hang on! this post was started in 2007, when Junior was still the Resident.
I have high hopes for our new administration as well, and I am totally sure that President Obama (oh, how I love to type those two words) WILL sign Kyoto, and we can join the company of grown-up nations once more!

that would be really cool if it happens... because the US as one of the biggest polluters must no longer be seen to be dragging it's feet on these issues.. After all if the US won't make the effort, the smaller poorer nations will think.. well why should we?
