ROTFL - Ben and Jerry's do make good ice cream. It's one of the few places I've ever been able to find chocolate, chocolate chip mint ice cream. But I don't think that their business is doing so badly they had to start making political ice cream. :-)

Does anyone know whether the little plastic spoons they pack with the individual ice cream cups are recyclable? There's not a symbol on it, but I have to think that Ben and Jerry's would use non-recyclable plastic (unless there's a very good reason for it).

Political ice cream? Ben & Jerry's makes the very best ice cream I have every tasted. I am glad to know they are taking such great steps as a well-known company.

One thing that drew me to B&Js was the unconventional and funny names they gave their ice cream. (I'd eat their chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, cool name or not.) The fact that they use their fortunes trying to help the environment, etc is another good reason to eat it. Now I must really stop because I'm getting an ice cream Jones...

I am just glad that Ben and Jerry had enough sense to package their products in smaller containers, because it is no telling how many pounds I would put on if that had not thought about that first.

The little cups you can buy are great for just that reason; they are still about 150-200 calories depending on the flavour you buy. I kind of wished I hadn't read the ingredients info...

When I decide it is time to ignore my diet, then I refuse to read the informational data on any container that I may be finding joy within.

That's great because we know consumers have to take responsibilty for their choices, but that can't go as far if companies don't change their habits as well. I think Ben and Jerry's is also the company that refuses to use milk with BGH in it. Bravo again.

Good grief, count up all the good about Ben and Jerry's and what you have is a responsible, humanist, voluptuous 21st century company deserving of praise for all its good works! If I had the money, I'd buy stock in it.
