Re: The Age of Warming
While we are on this topic of Global Warming, I think we should stop referring to it as Global Warming and call it Global Climate Change. It's hard to take warming seriously when the thermometer is as low as it is now (5F), but we can all see the effects of climate change.
I see it here in central British Columbia, Canada. We live in forests, and an awful lot of our forests are red. Did you ever see a forest of red pine trees? It's impressive and they are all dead; killed by a bark beetle. The natural check for the beetles here is a week of -40F winter weather. We haven't seen -40F in years. Our weather is becoming wetter and warmer.
Others are seeing much drier weather, especially in Australia. Much of the American West is drier and hotter too. Climate change affects us all and is especially noticeable in northern latitudes. Permafrost is melting, sea ice is receding, shorelines are eroding. It's happening folks!
