Exclamation The Age of Warming

Did anybody watch the 60 minutes presentation of "The Age of Warming"? If you didn't you missed one hell of a show. The thing that President Clinton wanted to show global warming may be worse than it is and the present administration is trying to hide it, is absolutely amazing. A Dr. Hanson says that we have 10 years to start to turn things around. He is the one that the Bush administration is, how should I put this, keeping and leash on. His interview was videotaped not only by 60 minutes but by a representative from NASA. He is also said to be the top scientist on global warming.

I don't like it when the government decides what I should and should not know. They do not have the right to do that! The government was created by the people and "for" the people. Not created for themselves.

I saw it, Roguegal. I was blown away by the scientist who said he had "refused" for years to believe that global warming was a result of human activity. It's scary when the people trained to do research can so easily tune out something they don't want to hear.

I guess we should be grateful that so many people have finally come around to accept our role in global warming. Now if we could all take the next step and actually do something about it!

its all about the money... u have to see the documentary "who killed the electrioc car". the power that the oil companies have is frightening!!!
i get so frustrated with the narrow mindedness of some people and how they think. there is almost NO doubt that human activities have intensefied the natural warming/cooling cycle of the planet...
what scares me more is that no one seems to care...
people make fun of me at work for trying to do my part.. riding the bus when i can, shutting off my car at long lights and coasting down hills...
its going to be a sad day but i know its coming when we get to tell these people "i told u so..."

While I do not disagree this is all about the money. But you will never convince me that 9/11 was an inside job. If the everyday person in this country and that out, you want to talk about a revolutionary war! More so now that we've lost thousands of American soldiers over it. We need to rework our government and give it where our forefathers wanted it in the first place.

What has got me worried is the 10 years we have left before we really can get the change started to stop global warming. What even worries me more is that the US is the biggest producer of the carbon monoxide that started the global warming.

Talking Re: The Age of Warming

I'm sorry to hear that several of you are agonizing over global warming. It is happening and people are responsible for it. However, working up an ulcer is counter-productive. As Jane Goodall said "We each have to do our bit and realize that when you add up those bits, you have massive change."

So, maintain a positive attitude and do what you can when you can.

Workingman brought up a really good point when he talked about how carefully he drives. We could all substantially reduce our carbon footprint (and save money on gas), just by learning to drive better. If you are interested in real-world fuel economy driving tips, check out: Green Hybrid

I am upset about it, but I'm not agonizing over it. What I am agonizing over is that the government keeps things from us on too many things.

I think we might have a chance to change our government(Canada) this Spring. I think environmental issues will be one of the big issues too. The Americans can change their government in November.

Politicians are like diapers, they need to be changed regularly and often.

There is more truth than poetry in that last statement. I hope we Americans can change our government in November and not just the presidency. According to the documentary America is the biggest culprit putting CO2 into the atmosphere. That does not make me feel very happy.
