I do wonder a lot about how much of it is caused by humans and how comes from natural patterns. This summer started off in a really strange fashion but now things feel pretty much normal (although a bit rainier than usual).

I would venture to guess that it's about 90% human caused. And that the other 10% is Mother Nature trying to resolve it. Stop and think about how things were done for machines, before the industrial revolution. The air was still clean back then and so was the water. I realize that the water near big cities wasn't all that clean, but water elsewhere in the world was. There were more trees to keep the CO2 down. This is one of those situations where the old saying "Hindsight is 20/20" comes into play. If we knew back then what we know now things would be completely different. Well, maybe not completely different. But they wouldn't be as bad as they are right now.

For early June, it was a sweltering day today. It got to be about 100 with the humidity today.

Now it's hot then cold then hot again.

I started this thread and I live in Knoxville, Tennessee and have lived here since the day I was born. April and May were wet and and mid 80's, but know already in the very first week of June we have had NO rain and the temperatures have hit the high 90's. Today it hit 97 which is broke all kinds of records for us. We usually do not hit high 90's until July.
