Default Wild weather patterns

I have lived in eastern Tennessee for 39 years and it seems as if this year the weather patterns have been really wild. Usually we have a lot of rain during the months of March and April, but this year it it was in the upper 80s/lower 90s and uncommonly dry. Then May came and it usually was a nice pleasant spring month with temps in the mid 80s - nice winds - pm showers occassionally, but not this year. Out of 31 days, we had rain almost every day at some point. Now June as started and it has rained on both days. What is up? has anyone else noticed these radical weather patterns or am I just loosing my mind like my friends think?

Oh, I've noticed them! I live in Phoenix, Arizona. Arizona is normally called the Grand Canyon State. I have nicknamed it "The Roller Coaster State" Because of the roller coaster weather we have been having. Last year at this time we were in triple digits and had been since late May. It was a very hot summer for its. The winter was on seasonally mild when normally it would be extremely cold after a hot summer. Of course, cold to me is 50°. Usually, after a mild winter we have an extremely hot summer. This year the weather can't make up its mind. One day were in the 80s the next day were in triple digits. Last week alone, we had almost a 20° drop in temperature within 24 hours. It usually only rains in the winter and we were flooded out last week. So I know what you're talking about. The weather has been extremely weird this year.

It's odd up here too.

April should bring us a lot of rain, but we didn't really get that much.

We got walloped during the winter months with tons of snow. Didn't get the rapid thaw that was predicted that would have caused flooding.

Now it's hot then cold then hot again.

We had a terrible winter here in Ohio. So far the spring time has been the usual spring weather. I feel for the areas that are constantly getting hit by the tornado's this year.

I seriously wonder if we are all just paying more attention to the weather now with all of this global warming hype or if there is an actual change occuring. I live in BC canada and things have been a little off as well. We often have some weird weather paterns though.

More and more we're hearing about wild weather patterns all over the world. We've had some extremely high winds and rain over the winter in the UK and then blazing hot in the spring. Now that we're into June, that feeling of summer is questionable...

It seems everywhere in the world the weather patterns are changing and it is not just this year...for the past 4 5 years I have noticed how summers have become extremely hot...winters extremely cold and then the sudden outburst of rains......

I, myself, started noticing whether changes back in high school. I had a science teacher that was into weather forecasting as a hobby. He was more accurate than the weatherman on TV. Ever since then, I have noticed the changes in weather. The first thing I noticed was snow in winter time in Phoenix. When I was a kid the only thing you ever heard about in winter was maybe freezing temperatures and that was about it. In the last 20 years, it has snowed in Phoenix at least 5 times. Although, it doesn't stay very long. I also remembere, when I was a kid, the summer temperatures never really got more than 105°-110° and the 110° was unusual. In the last 5 years alone, summertime temperatures have reached 115°-118°. So, yes, weather is changing all over.

Climate change is a fact nobody can dispute, the dispute arises only in whether it's a naturally occuring cycle that we didn't effect, or weather (sic) it's all our fault...
