Default Hanging Clothes Out To Dry.

So I was wondering if you hang your clothes out on a clothes line to dry? I love doing this not just to save energy but I love the smell of clothes dried on the line. I just cannot wait until winter is over and I can do this again.

I remember a discussion on this in the summer months, back when I lived in a house and could dry on the clothesline outside.

Now I don't have access to one

drying yours clothes on the line is an awesome way so save energy. it frustrates me that more people who can do not do this...
in the winter i have a clothes line in the basement near my wood burner... hardly ever use the dryer unless i'm in a real rush!
another positive is that my dryer is over 20 years old!!!

I wish I had a way to do it in the winter here but I really don't. I know when I lived in an apartment we couldn't have one and when we bought our house it was one of the first things I had my husband put up in the backyard.

I used to hang clothes out to dry when I lived in sunneir climes; they did smell better, but they weren't as soft. In the summer I could put out a load of clothes in the early afternoon and take them down in the evening. We lived near a church that had recorded bell sounds and I always tried to get out to the line in time for the bell songs; I really enjoyed that.

I remember my mother hanging are close out to dry on the line. It always had a wonderful fresh smell to them. They were also saw. I have to ask her tomorrow what she used to make them when she hung them on the line. If she could remember, I'll let you know. She turns 89 this month.

I love hanging out clothes. Since my washer has been broken, I wash them at the laundry mat and hang them out at home.

It's a great idea for saving energy and lowering your hydro bill as well. Even in the winter it's great to use one of those folding racks. It may take a bit longer than hanging clothes outside on a nice day but it certainly saves money.

I am thinking of putting out a clothes line this summer. I was wondering-do the clothes need to be ironed after being out?

I wonder why people need to even think about putting clothes on a line where possible. To me it's just common sense, saving electricity & money.

I do have a drier, but I keep it for emergencies. Even in winter I hang my clothes on an airer in the house or bathroom.
