Re: Pressure Cookers
too many people think that these cookers are risky but I can assure that the bursting is just a one off case...it is as usual as your microwave emitting sparks or something...get my point.....

Re: Pressure Cookers
Having read this thread I think I am going to get myself a pressure cooker and see how I get on with it.

Re: Pressure Cookers
I hadn't heard much regarding real difficulties with accidents so luckily I don't think this should be so much of a concern for those sitting on the fence regarding picking one up. My parents use one regularly with no incidents to speak of!

Re: Pressure Cookers
I remember my mom borrowing a pressure cooker once to make something. That is the only time I ever remember seeing one. They do sound interesting, esp since they do cook food quickly.

Re: Pressure Cookers
I just baked a cake in my pressure cooker and it was lovely...this is done by not putting the whistle on...much like steaming a cake....

Re: Pressure Cookers
They might seem to be dangerous but still I can never imagine my life without these cookers. I'm able to finish cooking the meals in less than an hour. It is the amazing gift for a wife who can rest for a while as work is finished at the earliest.

Re: Pressure Cookers
Any tips on purchasing a good pressure cooker? Also, what would be some good recipes for a beginner?

Re: Pressure Cookers
I love pressure cookers as well. And Evies, you can find all sorts of great recipes online, so try out a google search for some basics.

Re: Pressure Cookers
I'll have to go look up some for you Evie... pressure cooker brands will vary from country to country i guess... my mum has a Tefal though... you can probably get that brand where you are...
