Well, I tried and I hated it. Pressure cooking is not for me, I have shoved it at the back of a cupboard wit the bread maker, coffee machine and all the other expensive junk that I don't really need. I will stick to what I am comfortable with.

I was at Kmart this past week and went to look at the pressure cookers there. They had quite a few. I am really considering purchasing one.

Pressure cookers are the ONLY way to cook. They dont fry though, I use my cast iron skillet for that. I have 2 vintage prestos, 1 is from the 1940s and the other is from the 1970s, both work great! I saw some new ones at the store they seem flimsy to me. Id suggest getting a used older presto, you can get the sealing rings at ACE hardware for under $10

First go through your owner's manual carefully.
Be sure the lid is properly closed and locked into position before developing pressure.
You can use more liquid than recommended, but never use less.
If you end up with too much liquid, simply cook in the uncovered pot until the liquids are reduced to your satisfaction.

Talking Re: Pressure Cookers

i LOVE my pressure cooker. It takes 4 hours to cook dried beans in a normal pot. 40 minutes in the pressure cooker!!!!

That means a huge savings in cooking fuel. It also means I can cook dried beans easily. Dried beans are CHEAP! Like cheaper than dirt cheap. So I won't starve even if no one hires me. (want a smart guy on your payroll? knows how to cook beans...)
