Moving Tips?
Since we're about to move do people have any moving tips on how to make it a cleaner process and more green?
We've already donated a ton of furniture and things we couldn't sell..

Re: Moving Tips?
Don't get new boxes for moving. We unfortunately had to do that since we need bigger boxes than we could get from the beer store.
Otherwise that's all I can think of.

Re: Moving Tips?
If you know someone that works at a government office, ask them for boxes. They have great sturdy ones for the paper that gets delivered.
Every box that you have boxed up, make sure you write down what is inside AND what room it should go into when you move to your new place. That way, soon as you get the boxes to your new place, you know to place it in a specific room. Half the sorting is already done then!

Re: Moving Tips?
That only works if your movers actually read what's on the box.
We found my MIL's kitchen stuff in the basement instead of in the kitchen when she moved in.

Re: Moving Tips?
WHAT?! Movers should read. It would make it easier for them and a lot less complaints too!!
I don't know how to make it greener...except to recycle all the newspaper that you're using for packing! And of course, the boxes too.
Hey, an easy way to keep your food items in the cooler cool...take some of that snow from outside and put it in. Save you some time in making ice.
And if you've already moved, how did it go?!

Re: Moving Tips?
Rent or borrow a truck or van so you make fewer trips back and forth.

Re: Moving Tips?
Can't wait to see them. Sounds like the move went well. Keep us in tune to how it's going while you settle in. You know how difficult it was for me when we moved to our house. We're still not organized.
