Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
This sounds interesting indeed. Would come in handy for missing children. Don't think I would use it for anything other than that.

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
I think that's fascinating. Is it enough to motivate people to change their lifestyles, I wonder? That would be an interesting application of the technology.
Anything that gives parents and police an edge in helping reunite them with missing kids is fantastic in my book.

I think it would most definitely motivate me to change my behavior. It would have a huge impact I do believe.

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
Just thinking, though...how could the program factor in unknown future happenings? If someone was ill and in great pain for a number of years, or a major depression, or some other unknown things? If the program could suss THAT out, now that would be scary!!

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
Interesting thought, molly. I wonder if there could be something added that would take into account family history perhaps?
Then if there was a lot of history of depression for example in older generations, it could add that in as a "possible" and take it into account.
(I don't even know if depression is considered a hereditary trait, that's just an example.)

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
You have a good point about trying to factor in for depression, etc. That would indeed call for some fancy coding (if that's even what it's called anymore!)

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
Police, FBI and others in the United States already use something like this. They use it for missing children and for criminals. For criminals, is usually to try and find them after 15-20 years has passed. But they do use it.

It would come in handy for missing children. I to would love to get a picture of me as a child and see how right it turns out.

Re: ‘Face’ing the Future
I would love to know what my 8 year old son looks like now, and what he'll look like in 10 years.
I wish there was a program out there that we could use on our own. I only have pictures of him, and would like to know who I'm looking for when I go to find him.
