To special people, I will send out the cards. I know, I know. But there is something wonderfully tactile about cards, just like books. It's not the same just reading it on the screen.

Hard to believe that's it about 52 days until Christmas!! Where has the year gone?!

I think everyone should seriuosly consider giving green gifts, and I think the choice of gifts are much more unique than the same old traditional gifts...

Don't have to worry about the card thing here. I gave up sending out cards a long time ago. I would buy them and fill them out but for some reason never get the sent. I am such a procrastinator that way. Now friends and family don't think twice when they don't get one from me because they know exactly how I am when it comes to mailing things.

I will be sending out cards to the few that are not connected to the internet. This is really only a couple though. I also like the idea of gift cards. I love getting them as gifts. I mean, who really wants another nick-nack to put on the shelf?

E-cards are a better option than regular paper ones. But for those without a PC or internet, a green card is a good option too.

Also, giving gifts such as memberships to organizations are a great idea. One such organization is Arbor Day Foundation. There are many more other organizations that offer memberships too.

I never even thought about memberships to organizations but that is a great idea. You also have those adopt a animal ones. I am not to sure what they are all about but that could be an option also.

Yes, the animal related ones are great too.
Here is another one I like-savethechildren.org
There are many, and this is a good thing for variety.
Of course donating in someones name is also good, esp for the person "that has everything".

My brother and sister-in-law gave us excellent presents this year. We got a calender made with recycled paper and two grocery bags. The bags are great, they have a long strap so you can carry them on your shoulder rather than holding it in your hand. Great idea!

My girlfriend's brother got everyone WWF adoptions for Christmas which was a great gift. They came with little plush toys and a pictures of the animal the money went toward adopting, be it a monkey, giraffe, elephant or so on. I had never even heard of this kind of gift until this Christmas but I thought it was great.
