Thumbs up Ford hybrid

I just saw it commercial about the new Ford hybrid. They're calling it their green car. I am glad to see that Ford is participating in the green movement. Ford is the one that started the vehicles anyway.

I searched it over google and yeah came across this link :Green Car Congress: Ford Announces Hydrogen-Electric Plug-in Hybrid Drive and Airstream Concept
where it specifies it is green car.

This sort of news is always good to see. I like when more of the big brands get on board regarding environmental responsibility; especially some of the North American ones.

My mother bought herself a hybrid, but I can't remember who makes it. She tools around several hundred miles every week or so, and she loves it. She traded in her Eddie Bauer SUV for her hybrid, so she must have greatly reduced her carbon footprint.

If I ever buy another car, it will be a Ford or Chevy. Right now I do not have a car. I don't know if Chevy has any "green" cars. So, at this point, it will have to be a Ford hybrid.

I'd love a hybrid.

I wonder about the reliability though and here's why:

One of the newest in our fleet of hybrid buses broke down the other day. I don't know why either, but I passed it on the way home the other morning. I heard it on the news a few minutes before I passed it. I expected it to be one of the older buses not the newest hybrids they bought.

It seems to me, my husband noticed this morning that other buses are now leaking transmission fluid as they drive.

Stop and think about that. During my life I have never heard of a brand-new model coming out that didn't have problems. In fact, many new models of vehicles have been recalled because something is dangerous about them.

I think the problem is that the companies are so anxious to make the almighty dollar that they have a tendency to rush to get their products on the market. I think this is true with most any product and not just vehicles.

I expect there will be a lot of problems before they finally did it perfect.
