It's kind of sad if you think about it though. If people were more motivated to invest their time to take care of the environment, rather than tax them on it, I think I would feel more comfortable. It's going to cost trillions year after year after year. When you look at the different graphs showing how much the temperature should go down because of this investment, it's very difficult to see the results.

It will take trillions for a few years, but that will be because the renewable energy infrastructure will take building and developing. Once the infrastructure is built, the price of it will come down because it will be in place and working. Then we can also start to subtract the cost of the money that has to be be spent because of the harm that is being done to people and the environment. Also, without having to buy so much oil will save billions.
PS-- This is what the regressives tried to pin Al Gore with, because they said he had to pay so much more for his energy while installing his solar and wind arrays--Yes, it does cost more money to do the installation. They don't talk about his utility bills now, because his arrays are up and running.

This is something that I would like to see more of and I hope that more countries will take their lead in doing more of this.

Yes, it's a good start. I am wondering though, how much of their energy needs will this project meet? China's energy consumption is both massive and meteoric in growth, and I suspect that this project will only keep renewables on a par with other fuel sources such as oil and coal.

Still, it's more than we're seeing here in Australia.

I have and I think it's an outstanding idea. Law Enforcement says "It will make our job harder". Then their job will be harder. The benefits outweigh the risks.

Very good news about China. I've read that their cities are getting so polluted that folk walk around their nose and mouth covered. They've definitely got the money for fixing things like their environment.

When it comes to China, I'll believe it when it happens. Until then I will be skeptical. It's true, though, their pollution is about the worst I've seen in all my travels.

That they've gotten to this polluted in such a short time should be a horrible example for other "developing" countries. Countries that are trying to deal with industrial and auto pollution should take a lesson as well.
