I personally do not question their existance although i cannot say i have spoken with any directly... unless they wiped my memory but that's another forum of discussion but..
...gotta ask; would we matter until we could actually get far enough away from our planet to be a nuisance. If the infestation spreads.. well; a well is a gravity anomaly surrounding a black hole but that's not important right now; suffice to say...the way space debris is piling up around the planet it won't apparently be long before we are a threat only to ourselves and grounded by our own short sightedness or anthropocentric myopia if you want to give the affliction a name.perhaps our transmission make them certain we are no threat but it depends how far out they go and the message they get and all presupposing they can make any sense of it out of context. given that the next star system is over 4 light years away our messages aren't reaching them anyway; I'm not worried. List in Space: Calling the Cosmos Gets Commercial ![]() By Ker Than Special to SPACE.com posted: 23 March 2005 06:46 am ET Aliens will be glad to know that if ever they need to find an apartment here on Earth, someone has got them covered. On March 11th at 6:30pm, a company called Deep Space Communications Network beamed the first commercial transmission of a website into space. The message? Over one hundred thousand separate postings from craigslist.com, the popular community website that includes classified listings for jobs, housing and other goods. The transmission included a date and time stamp, as well as an audio track identifying the message as originating from Earth. “It's very fitting that the first [commercial] transmission into space is by a community website like craiglist because it represents a wide cross section of society,” said Jim Lewis, vice president of Deep Space Communications Network. me and my fiance just got back from my dad's house. it was really clear out so i dug my old telescope out of his attic... its always humbling looking out into the vastness of the universe. its amazing that everything that has ever happened in the history of mankind happened on this little speck we call earth... imagine what might be happening elsewhere. we have so much potential to do good but yet so many faults that keep us from acheiving that potential... |
