Pollution Free Energy

Wind is one of the world’s most abundant sources of energy. Being a renewable source of energy, it can be replenished again and again, without the fear of it getting it getting over. It is believed that there is abundant wind energy present in the atmosphere, more than that is required by the whole world. The potential of wind power on land and near-shore is close to 72 terawatts (TW). This is calculated to be over five times the world's current energy use in all forms.

The wind energy sector is growing rapidly with the growth registering at the pace of 28% a year for the past five years. If this rate continues, wind capacity will double about every three or four years. One of the major technologies of wind energy in use today is the wind turbines. The wind turbines work by transforming the kinetic energy in the wind into mechanical power, which is the n used generate electricity.

Wind energy is one of the cheapest and also the cleanest source of energy. The environmentalist’s preferred choice of alternate energy as it does not produce any harmful gases and does not contribute to greenhouse effect. Owing to its great advantages and the *wind power investment opportunities* (http://www.worldenergyresearch.com/ServiceandContact.aspx?id=3), the wind sector is attracting a great deal of investor attention.

There are a couple of apps on Facebook that are good for the planet.

One is a farm game that saves 1 sq ft of rainforest for gifts you send to 10 friends(not sure of the exact amount though).

Another one is Login | Facebook (http://apps.facebook.com/myforestgame)( Forest game)

This one helps with carbon emissions.

Try this one out and if you're there, let me know your facebook name and I'll add you to my friends list to give you the info on the farm game.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm really interested in the planet and sustainable energy, but I am also a heavy skeptic on new-wavey sustainable energy ideas. I think in order to be sustainable, any new scheme has to not only obey the laws of physics, but also the rules of economics

See you in the forums!

I signed up here many moons ago, and posted as well, with a tip I found super, but never found my post!

I cannot even find my User Name in the Members List, and I need to tell you it is very hard to feel part of a community this way. Too bad, considering we "meet" here because we have a common desire to help the planet. :(
