It's the same thing here. Freedom of speech. It's in the Human Rights Code.

First of all, i hate to have to say this but concerning :

"I don't think his men were thinking about their families when they did what they did." - OF COURSE THEY DID! If we take the story that it was Bin Laden's group that did it then they were doing it to get back at the US and likely for the benefit of Islam (in their minds). Their kids and families, if on the same mindtrack as them, were probably very proud of them and they thought they were doing them a service by sticking up for their nationality, culture or whatever you want to call it.

onto the wars:
Afganistan was to get rid of a state where the leaders would allow groups such as Al-Q to operate within their borders. Maybe the military is incompetent. maybe they have their hands tied with other things than to go off into the bush and in and out of every hole to find Bin L. Maybe ol' bin is already dead, or has escaped off somewhere and the search is now symbolic. maybe the US has given up, he's no longer such a threat, and they're primarily concerned with Iraq.

Iraq. OIL. Finish off what dad didn't. Respond to pressure to have another war from weapons maufacturers and return the favour(s) such industries have given the Bush admin.

to get back at the US
What had the US done to deserve what they did? As I recall Bush started the war AFTER they crashed the planes not before.

in bin ladens view, the US has done EVERYTHING to deserve what they did..
1. we claim to be primarily christian, the hate that..
2. the way our women are treated as equal.. they don't like that..
3. i heard that they are appalled by our television shows that seem to have nothing but sex, violence, sex, profanity, and sex...
4. and of course we seem to always be sticking our noses into everyones buisness... nobody likes that...

Well, most other countries don't bomb U.S cities just because they don't like what they do. Ugh. The whole thing makes me sick. I just wish it would end.

It's been going on for way too long. I don't know why something doesn't get done to end it.

removing a country's entire goverment, and starting a new one takes alot of work... we set an unrealistic time table for accomplishing this, or perhaps that was how the goverment got all of the initial support, by saying we'd be in and out.. either way, people are now getting angry at our goverment that has been promising results..

Well, the people shoud stand up and do something about it. Nothing will get done if no one tries to do something.

the problem is that we can't just up in run... the disaster would be huge.. the country is in turmoil and if we ran out without getting the new goverment up and running iraq would be 10 times worse off than it is now.. i don't know what the answer is but i know that turning tail and running is not
