so many people here from toronto i couldn't help but to post this info i read in a book called 'plan b 2.0' written by lester r brown..

chapter entitled 'throw away economy in trouble'
"Toronto, canada's largest city, closed its last remaning landfill on december 31, 2002, and now ships all its 1.1 million ton per-year garbage to wayne county michigan."

what's going on up there torontoies?

What can I say, I guess we hate trash! Better to ship it than to burn it or whatever their idea was.

If we didn't generate so much trash maybe we wouldn't have the issue of having to ship garbage elsewhere. I wonder what will happen when Michigian says enough is enough. It's been threatened before.
