I have seen most of those's films you listed and they are  very good...my personal favs are:

2001:a Space Odyssey (1968) (or anything by Kubrick)
Never Cry Wolf (1983)
The Bear (1986)
The City of Lost Children (1995)

There are others but I can't bring them to mind right now...I know they are not much on the environment but they play on the heart if nothing else.

I remember the bear as a kid. But it's been a long time. I'll try to watch some of the other ones when I have some time.

I would add Blue Vinyl by Judith Helfand.
Her production company is Toxic Comedy Productions and her upcoming film made with her filmmaking partner Daniel B. Gold is Melting Planet.

I saw An Inconvenient Truth and so did my 12 year old son.
My pediatrician said that every fifth grader in the nation should be required to see it.

Re Helfand:
"Helfand defines herself as a filmmaker/organizer and has worked as a documentary producer and educator for the past ten years. She co-produced and co-directed THE UPRISING OF 34 with veteran documentarian George Stoney. The feature labor documentary was broadcast nationally on the acclaimed PBS series POV in 1995 and voted one of that years ten best documentaries by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Helfand used a more personal, humorous and ironic style with A HEALTHY BABY GIRL, a DES daughter's diary about "wonder drugs" and rude awakenings. It was in competition at the 1997 Sundance Film Festival, had its television premiere on POV and received a Peabody Award for Excellence in Journalism and Public Education. BLUE VINYL, the 2002 crowd pleaser of a "toxic comedy" co-directed and co-produced with Daniel Gold, is a sequel of sorts, that picks up right in front of her parents blue vinyl house and was broadcast nationally on HBO's premiere series "American Undercover". Accolades include the 2002 Excellence in Cinematography Award, an IDA nomination for "Best Documentary", a "Nice Modernist" award from Dwell Magazine, the 2002 Environmental Messenger of the Year from the Environmental Grantmakers Association, a 2002 EPIC Award from the Whitehouse Project and two recent Emmy Nominations for "Best Research and "Best Documentary". Building on ten years of creating strategic distribution efforts with her documentaries, Helfand co-founded Working Films, a nationally recognized organization that is dedicated to leveraging the power and prestige of documentary to long-term economic, social and environmental justice.

With the success of BLUE VINYL, Helfand and her filmmaking partner Daniel B. Gold formed a production company, Toxic Comedy Pictures, to create original, entertaining media with a social conscience and a sense of humor. They are currently in production on their next "toxic comedy", a feature documentary about global warming, called MELTING PLANET. "

Another film to watch is "Outfoxed" a documentary about the FOX News channel. It doesn't really talk about the enviroment, but it does do an expose on how one sided FOX "News" is. I think they have done a lot to push the right wing agenda, and make anyone who discuss issues like the environment come across as unmanly.

I really don't like fox, they just try to confuse the audience with a lot of fast talking and no backing up of their facts.

FOX News is awful journalism. Journalism at its worst. The fact that they have been on the air for 10 years and are no. 1 in the ratings, says more about the American consumer than about how good they are. As someone who has worked as a reporter and in public relations, I would say FOX News should be called the GOP PR machine, because that is what it is.
Any journalism school teacher could list all the rules of journalism they are breaking.

i recently saw OUTFOXED. It really isn't journalism at all. Reporters are told how to report, what to report on and how to present everything. Fox news is entirely ready to fire anyone who works for them and doesn't back their point of view. Everything is screened by those at the top. Worst of all is their interviewing, and almost "making up" of news. i won't tell it all, just watch it.
