[QUOTE"Dogs come when they're called. Cats take a message and get back to you"][/quote]
lol! that is a good one! i always liked mark twains saying, "you can take in a starving dog, feed him and make him prosperous, and he will never bite you. that is the principal difference between a man and a dog" |

One of our apartments was a basement suite that the homeowner had refinished – and in true 'do-it-yourself-er' style, there were lots of corners cut and parts left unfinished.
One such part was the wall between the bathroom and the kitchen. It only went down to just below the counters, because really, why do you need a wall behind your counters anyway? Well, the open part at the bottom could only bee seen if you lay on the floor and looked under the cabinets. What my cat discovered was that the opening led into the hollow part of the bathtub. So essentially, the cat was in the 'walls' of the bath tub – the sides of it are hollow – and the cat was in there. We were pretty startled at first, but he seemed to come to no harm. We still have him ten years later so I guess it was all good. |

Yes, I've had numerous cats through the decades.
They are very clever about finding unusual places to hang out: on top of doors, on rooftops, ledges, under computer tables under all the wires, in laundry baskets (with either dirty or clean laundry in them), shelves, drawers, boxes, sink, bathtub, window ledges, chairs pushed in under tables with tablecloths on, crawl spaces, car engines (kittens), tree crooks, and more... Cats can be very loving, affectionate, watchcats and devoted pets and yes they are independent, have their own agendas and different personalities and quirks like humans. |

Our cat one time climbed into one of our dresser drawers and somehow one of the boys closed the drawer. I have no clue how long she was in there but I know we had been looking for her for over two hours. Cats seem to get into the weirdest places.

They really do.
Ours love the basement here, it's all they have now, and they adjusted quite nicely. While they don't have many places to run around, they still find ways to get into trouble. They drink out of the bathroom sink or tub faucets and always run to the bathroom every time they think I'm heading that way. |
