Default Wrapping Paper Tip

A couple weeks ago I had to wrap a gift for my youngest sons birthday. I had forgot to get wrapping paper so I ended up using the comics from the local paper. My son thought that was really neat when he seen it. I just thought I would pass this tip along just in case someone had never thought of it.

This is a great idea and it looks nice too. We have also stopped purchasing birthday cards. We will write on the gift or make a small "card" out of the paper.

I remember Mother wrapping my friends gifts in the comics when she forgot to get wrapping paper and I was going to their party. My friends all thought it was pretty cool. Another fun idea is to wrap gifts in old posters. They also make great book covers for school books.

Very cute idea!

I don't send cards any more either - such a waste when you look at it.

If it's for someone at the office, I just take whatever is in the recycling bin. However, I just make sure it's stuff that's not confidential!!

Tater I think this is a fantastic idea, why I did not think of it in the first place...it sure must have looked so cool and absolutely different from all other gifts your son recieved.....

Yes, it did stand out. I am surprised honestly that I never thought of it before. I also like the idea of the old posters. I have one now that is of Spiderman that is tore up and would make for good wrapping paper. Thanks for that tip.

You're quite welcome. I work for a grocery store that also rents movies and I take all the old movie posters home and put them in my wrapping paper box. I don't use too much tape because sometimes the kids try to save them and hang them on the wall.

I have been using old comics to wrap presents off and on for quite a while now. I think I am going to start to save all the comics throughout the year and use them for Christmas wrapping
