We have tomatoes growing on our terrace and a lot of herbs. You can buy fresh herbs at the store but it is just as easy and more cost effective to buy a potted plant for herbs.

I've been seeing a lot of green buildings growing community gardens on the rooftop. Not only can you cultivate, but this helps bounce off some of the sunlight heat the building collects, lessening your dependence on air conditioning...

We had a maid once who lived in dire curcumstances but still kept a small garden near her front door...she was so enthusiastic about planting everything she could lay her hands on...a true inspiration and a true environment lover I would say.

Yes that is true, I have an eggplant in my house window on the east. I've tried to cultivate some seeds on a pot, and it works. It could give some green view inside my home.
