How weird. I can't imagine drying clothes causing a bad smell unless they are dryin to slowly that they are getting mildewy. In the winter I dry all my clothes indoor. I hang the majority on a rack which hangs from a door, and put jeans above the wood stove.

I find it impossible to dry everything in the house in the winter. I live in England and we have a lot of damp winter days when there is not enough breeze to dry the washing outside (we have plenty of rainy days too!). I have a big family and I can usually managed to dry tops and underwear on racks in the house, but towels, bedding and jeans don't dry fast enough and they start to smell fusty. Anyway I don't have enough space to dry seven loads of bedding in the house every week, so I need to use the dryer for the heavy stuff in winter.

Is this dryer modified to run on propane, or was it specifically built for propane. I've never heard of one of these, and I'd be interested to learn of this.

You need a wood stove Justontime! Pop a pair of jeans above there and they're dry in no time! |

I live in a town in a modest three bedroom house with a relatively small kitchen. I have nowhere to put a wood burning stove and I wouldn't know where to get the wood from anyway.

Considering that all municipalities should welcome ways of saving energy, it's surprising that clotheslines don't exist anymore in some neighborhoods, and my neighborhood doesn't even allow us to hang clothes outside!

I am on holiday in Norfolk England. We are by the sea and I have been so impressed by how easy it is to dry clothes here. There is always a breeze (but sometimes the wind is so strong it rips everything off the line!) and the clothes feel almost as if they have been tumble dried. I never get that in my small town garden hundreds of miles from the coast. The downside is rain, it is (allegedly) summer but we have had a dreadful August and it is a case of dodging the showers. I can't usually do that when I'm working.
