I save every ribbon, bow and gift bag. I have not bought any in long time! It is pretty funny as my whole family does this and we are always passing bags back and forth. We are always sure to ask one another if we need a certain size bag before buying one.

When I am needing wrappings for smaller presents, what i do instead of paper is for gents, buy a handkerchief/silk square to wrap their present in, and they can then use it either in a suit breast pocket or as an ordinary hankie.. so it becomes part of their present.. I do the same for ladies, by buying a pretty scarf or shawl and wrapping the present in that...

With a ladies gift, you know those little hair clip thingies? the ones with the teeth that clamp around? Make perfect fastenings for the scarf or hankie... no need for sticky tape either

like this..

Thumbs up Re: Eco-Friendly Alternatives to Store Bought Wrapping Paper

My friends and I like to use old calendars - if you have a wall calendar that's about to expire at holiday time, it can be perfect. Frequently calendars have such pretty pictures, it's easy to use them as wrapping.

=)
