They do still make them and they write beautifully but slowly, I find. They are also expensive.

I'll have to bite the bullet and get one anyway, Lyndsey. I really can't stand how regular bics, biros, and ballpoints write; I need to feel the flow of the ink. Must be from a previous life, but anyway...the sound of the scratching on the paper is important as well...!

I too am so particular and fussy about my pen...somehow i just dont like the ball pens anymore...fountain pens are really the thing for me with the flow of the ink the thick writing and just the class it feels to write with them.....

I know exactly what you mean, I love using a fountain pen, it has a certain style and it makes my writing look better. There are plenty of inexpensive ones available if anyone is thinking of making the change.

even the chines fountain pens with small nibs write pretty well. I have been gifted one recently by my husband and though you really cannot see the nib like atraditional fountain pen..the pen writes quite beautifully.....
