I also recycle greeting cards, but I send far less than I used to, I just send cards to close family really. Everyone else gets an e-card as it is cheaper and doesn't use paper. I don't send many Christmas cards either, a few years ago my cousin sent a note in all his cards to say that in future he would make a donation to charity instead of sending cards. Since then I have followed his example, and I can still send my good wishes by email.

I saw a picture online of a basket someone had made out of glossy magazine paper; the weaving looked to be the same type that we used to make gum wrapper chains with. Remember those? So, has anyone seen those or made those? It looks like it could be a fun project.

I have started shredding all of my paper and old bills. I have discovered a way to make my own fire logs out of paper so that I can burn logs in my fireplace. I love the nice fire going in the wintertime

The blocks are a good idea, unfortunately we have restrictions on what we can burn in our area. We use shredded paper for pet bedding. I have done everything possible to reduce the amount of junk mail I get, but still I have far too many adverts, leaflets and such like. I put them straight into the recycling box because they are usually too glossy to make good pet bedding.
