If money was no object then there are a lot things I would do-from solar panels, water storage tanks, water reclamation systems, low flow toilets, eco friendly flooring and furniture. Oh I could go on. We just try to do what we can, as far as the big things go.

I'm a big fan of home cleaning products. Once I made the switch I found they clean a lot better and remove so many toxins from my home and from what I'm flushing down the drain. Microfibre cloths work wonders.

I like the idea of money being no object! We still need to do some basic stuff like improving insulation (because money is a problem) but I would love to have solar panels, in fact I have a very long wish list is

Solar panels would be lovely..but for the time being we try not to shower too long with nice hot water,
Try to spare (hot) water while doing the dishes, and dry as much clothes as possible outside instead of the tumble dryer.

Re: Can you greenify your home?

There are many ways to make your home more efficient and by definition "greener". Any improvement that results in an energy savings is very helpful because it means less energy being generated.

A real energy hog in most homes is the seal around outside doors, and to a lesser extent windows. Threshold seals as well as side and top door seals are inexpensive and will pay for themselves very quickly. Caulking is inexpensive. You can seal up a lot of air leaks with caulk.

It's simple to reset the thermostat on your water heater to 120F rather than 150F. That will save a lot of energy. Replace furnace filters regularly results in energy savings. Lowering the thermostat just a bit can also save energy.

In summer days...instead of an AC a simple ceiling fan can suffice too...and help save a lot of energy...

A cold bottle of water and a small fan is good enough for me!

lots of simple things anyone can do... like changing to low power bulbs. Putting heavy curtains at your windows to keep heat in during the winter and to keep out heat in the summer... turning your thermostat down a notch in winter and up a notch in the summer.. adding insulation to your attic and draught excluders under doors..
