Re: Post pics of yourself, and more info.
That is a nice size creature, at least for a snail.
The CRUNCH must be fun when you have guests over... ;D

The best bit is when you get people to hold it and you see their faces as it slimes over their hands. It's an odd sensation

EWWWW That sounds growss. "I've been slimed by a giant snail!" But seriously I never realized that snails could get that bigs.

I realize that now. Much easier than most forums. And that's a good thing.

Anyone else want to introduce themselves? Matc, I'd love to see a pic of that snail if you've got one.
Here's a pic of my fiance. He's not a morning person, but that's ok. If you notice what's behind him, I've had comments on that and I've found it to be quite amusing.

Hey guys, I'm Jen, 31, from southwest Missouri...I've written some articles for www.aboutmyplanet.com and I really love the site. I was born into a long line of tree huggers, non-smokers, hippies, what have you, so this site is a dream for me.

Re: Post pics of yourself, and more info.
Well, I'll share a shot of one of my (few-and-far-between) favorite pastimes: just vegging. ;D Unfortunately, I've not been back to my beloved Cozumel since the last spate of hurricanes.
Unlike Jen, I was not born into a long line of treehuggers or hippies, but rather to a long line of outdoorsmen. I learned early on to appreciate and respect nature and her elements for all she has to offer...both good and bad.
Besides writing and photography, I enjoy organic gardening, camping, fishing, astronomy, history, genealogy, archival preservation, football and travel.
(Ceeripes! I tried downsizing image twice. Sorry. I'll work on that on future posts.)

I thought I'd make this a sticky thread so more people can find it.
I am going to be adding another pic of my rabbit to this thread, so he's a permanent fixture.
I hope others will start posting pics now that this thread is near the top.

Hey there everyone!
Re: snails
My nephew (age 7) has a collection of pet snails at home.
I have (yep, you guessed it) three cats and one almost teenager human.
The cats are: Pooh or Pooh Bear (like the character Winnie the Pooh, 'cause she's so good-natured, brown/black tortoise coloring medium long-haired), Oni or Omni(black and white tuxedo, short haired), and Rocky (grey and black tabby/spotted, short haired, like an old man with a beer belly).
I'm on the East Coast of the USA in West Orange, New Jersey - about 45 minutes to New York City.
