Hello all,
Just stumbled along on my virtual hike and I found this little jem.
Im just your regular guy, I live in phoenix but I grew up in Michigan. I studied biology and botany in college and love nature. I lead a batchelors life, and get outside as much as I can by whatever means possible. Im very down to earth on my environmental stance. I grew up in the country, running around in the woods as a kid, getting lost catching turtles in lakes and bogs.
I find this site exciting because it provides me with a method of refining my knowledge and obtaining credible information that I can then use in a informative situation. I find it frightening how much ignorance and apathy there is in this world twords nature. Im eager to learn and help learn.
To be a true environmentalist one needs tro understand that we need to coexict with nature and all of its resources. I am not a staunch supporter of greenpeace, or a vegitarian. I dont really like granola, and lentils remind me of dirt. I do, however, belive the environmental issues at hand will be the most detremental occurance in the 21st century. Our world is changing, like it or not. The wheels are in motion so lets find out where its going. I want solutions, not problems. Lets get to the cause and see what we can do realistically. People will not just stop driving tomorrow, or using to much AC, but maybe, just maybe, we can come together an d find an alternative.
