After 20 years, I came back to who I was...
Hello Everyone,
I hail from Denton, Texas, where I am completing my masters degree in Women's Studies. I am involved in several political activism projects and consider myself an ecofeminist. After taking an ecofeminism course during this summer, I realized that I wanted to do more for people, animals, and the earth from the perspective I had forgotten about as a child. My mother taught me to respect all things but clamored to what "popular" opinion believed which wastes our resources, kills our animals, exposes wildlife and species for unsafe habitats if you will, and so on. As I have organized with several groups and coalitions for social justice, I believed that there was a vital connection to nature that was desperately missing from my life. I have taken a stand to become a vegetarian and educate in a respectful manner about the benefits of caring for the earth (our well-being is interconnected to everything). I now work at a Wildlife Sanctuary in North Texas that helps conserve bottomland forest, prairies, and wetlands. I discovered this website off of Craigslist (I'm an avid follower) and am interesting in making connections with others (there goes that interconnectedness again) and learn more about a world I will be more than happy to protect.
Genuinely,
Protectress
