Thanks, Stav, I'll be sure to have a look at the Chernobyl site.
Yesterday, I believe it was, John McCain said that he wants something like eight new nuclear power plants. He also wants oil drilling off the Pacific coast and start drilling in ANWAR.

The Chernobyl records are pretty disturbing. If you have a chance and read any articles with photographs it's pretty horrible what happened to the residents from the fallout. I know nuclear is supposed to be one of the best options right now but I think we have to keep in mind the incredible dangers.

I think I've come up with a good way to get rid of nuclear waste. Put it on a rocket and shoot it into outer space. There's so much radiation in space anyway it wouldn't have any impact. Just aim it in a direction that it won't come back to us. But, I think that's a little too simple for any government to think of.

For some reason I think this kind of plan was actually considered at one point. If it's feasible it seems like it's not actually all that bad of a plan. I think a lot of things may change as environmental issues worsen and we explore space even more.

I did read that blog and it was sure an eye opener. Did anyone on here read it?
As for the nuclear power I don't get why you it has to be one or the other? I mean if we can find a safe way for nuclear power why can't they still look into renewable energy ideas?
