I would suggest that you start slow anyway and perhaps just try 24 hours the first time. Fasting for longer than that the first time might just make you feel terrible, not healthier!

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
what I usually do is eat lots of fibres and fruits, drink atleast 8 glasses of water and walk a little after every meal to let my body be on the move while the intestines are doing there work...

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
I don't do the detox diet, but always eat properly and make sure I get plenty of fiber and yogurt. I also drink loads of water everyday.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
My daughter recently went back on her organic and whole foods diet and she's actually lost 7 lbs! She was living at home for a little while and we don't eat that way and she packed on the pounds. But, when she moved out again, she went back to her regular way of eating and she feels terrific! Maybe there's something to the organic eating.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
I use a great fiber supplement as well as a probiotic. I also avoid what I refer to as "intestinal paste" white foods, breads, potatoes. I have also tried colonics as well ~livegreeneasy2.com

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
I always drink a lot of water and take in a lot of fiber which seems to keep me happy. It's a good point regarding the 'intestinal paste' food and their ability to make digestion a lot harder.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
A good healthy diet, plenty of water, as many raw whole foods as possible. And I also take probiotics. I have my little ones take them also, they get fewer colds and very rarely, if ever stomach issues.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
I have a digestive tract that was damaged by antibiotics and has never been the same since. I can't eat any dairy, not even yogurt or kefir, not even in small amounts. Lactaid doesn't help either. However, I have been trying some enzyme supplements that are supposed to help me digest. They don't help with dairy, but I don't get the spasms or cramping I used to get before, so they help with digestion in general.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
Well, I have found that I prefer eschewing harsh chemicals whenever possible (and I don't eat meat either) and that a spot of peppermint tea will very often keep everything humming.

Re: Digestive Conscisous Foods
I eat yogurt which I make a few times a week right in my kitchen. For supplements, I go with flax seeds, wheat grass tablets, and a multi vitamin (no extra iron added) Fish oil (salmon and anchovie)
