Default nuclear or not to nuclear..

Chevron - willyoujoinus.com - Discussion

i recently came across the above website.. they were having a discussion about the role of nuclear power in the future..
i joined the site so i could get my two cents in, i oppose nuclear power.
i was surprised to read that alot of people support it. they bring up facts like, nuclear power can produce several times more power than a coal burning plants and wind mill farms.. nuclear is alot safer than it use to be, nuclear can meet the worlds energy demands...

i replied with statements like, nuclear produces radioactive waste.. where's it all going to go?! nuclear still produces pollution unlike wind mills (except for the energy used in building them). and even though nuclear will extend our oil reserves, we will undoubtedly end up in the same place..

i am no nuclear expert,. nor an any kind of expert for that matter,
so am i right or wrong? is nuclear a good idea or not?

I say say its a bad idea, its based off the same short term mindedness that we came up with when we started burning fossil fuels for energy.

There is a discussion on it here
