Great idea. Now, can someone explain to me how you can harness power and keep it and then sell it without wars getting started?! i.e. I wonder if everybody would just name their price and the markets would just follow. I have visions of price gouging.

u bring a good point peachy... a great idea often fails in this country because of the fact that nobody can ever reach a damn agreement or compromise... personal gain seems to ALWAYS be put ahead of what is best for the country and definatly ahead of what's good for the environment...

anybody watch Jericho? Same thing...limited resources and then the power hungry gouging comes out. In 1 minute, the price was for 500 pounds of salt. 3 Minutes later, it's 700 pounds. "It's the price of power."

So sad eh?

I love Jericho, but I sure hope that's not our future we're looking at. The fictional town has a salt mine, cropland, and apparently enough water to get by. How many of us would have those kinds of resources if some catastropic event occurred?
