I sailed across the Atlantic back in the late 1970's and we regularly found plastic bags on our fishing lines trawling behind the yacht.

I would agree with you Atula, the water is polluted to a greater extent due to this idols submerging and not just that but there is all the sewage too that is redirected into lakes or rivers etc... I just went for boating in some lake in the south india and the smell was hopeless, it had great looking park on the banks but it wasn't suitable for boating.

I think that with the news they report on whatever it is that is popular at the moment. I do a lot of research to find out what is going on. Sometimes it takes matter into my own hands to find out what is really going on in this world.
