Honda cars are good but too expensive here in India and not affordable by every person. The car looks amazing and of course Honda cars are mostly pollution free I guess.

Listen, many people are completely naive and would love to believe this is the answer to all, it's not. First off, think of it as a glorified EV, battery powered. You must charge it like any other car, accept there's a catch. It has a 50% efficiency cycle. That means, if you charge it with 1 kilawatt, you will only get 1/2 a killawatt out of it. This spells garbage. It's not a solution to the energy problem, as you must put the energy into it. Plus, if it's charged off the grid it would be worse for the environment than driving a gas car.

Think of it this way, instead of burning relatively clean gasoline to power your car, you're burning the dirty nasty polluting coal at the power plant, transmitting it to your house with losses, and then charging the fuel cell, with 50% losses. EDIT: Just for comparison, if you used a lead acid battery (like today's EVs) you would have 95% efficiency.

The result is: this is essentially for honda's stock prices, is not economically feasible, will never be produced, and is general political propoganda. A hoax.

Be careful what you believe. They got all of you apparently.

Honda has always promoted itself as an environmental friendly company and I have heard they spend really billions on r& D to give to the people as promised a pollution free vehicle....

My cousin drives a Honda CRV and Honda Civic and she always mentions about it being so much environmental friendly and most reliable along with their great mileage.

That sounds amazing but I worry about how many people are still not on board with cleaner cars. I still hear people say foolish things about why they wouldn't buy a hybrid or a smart car - doesn't look as nice, doesn't go as fast, etc.

I wouldn't buy a hybrid because the return on investment sucks, it gets worse highway mileage than a normal car because it's lugging a hefty load of batteries, and they look ugly because they have to stuff those batteries in the trunk. I wouldn't buy a smart car because they have relatively poor gas mileage. I would expect them to have twice that, and if i'm driving a flea I'd like to know I'm doing something really good for the environment.

As I said, this is marketing and for shareholders, but it is not a solution to our energy problem.

All that matters to me is that it is Honda. We are planning to buy one Honda CRV which would be good for our family and would also mean environmental friendly.

Wow, I really had no ideal that this was what they were all about. You have really done your research. Thank you so much for your valuable information.

The Honda Clarity is not being sold yet. It will be leased this summer for $600 per month though and when the lease expires the car goes back to Honda. This is a market test for the vehicle in Southern California.
