Environmental Awareness Education In Schools?
Evolution, politics, and religion have been known to be prominent in most schools. Should environmental awareness education become part of the school curriculum?

I think so, it's something children need to learn at an early age. It will help them when they grow up.

Re: Environmental Awareness Education In Schools?
I'm 16 years old and find this to be a very interesting topic. I think that this would be a great thing to introduce to the curriculum. At my age being interested in the environment and these kind of issues is EXTREMELY out of the ordinary. 99% of my friends have never thought for a second about anything to do with the environment.

Yes, I think it should. I've been quite frankly stunned at how little some people know.

They are actually teaching my third grader all about the environment, recycling, and global warming. I think it is great because it has brought things to his attention and reinforced what I am trying to teach him.

I definitely think it should be. I think it would be more beneficial on the level of personal improvement (like encouraging recycling) than it would be on the political level, though.

I agree with everyone and think that environmental awareness should be included in the curriculums. Like Brendan said 99% of his friends have never even thought of anything to do with the environment.

I believe that it should, because there is a huge amount of adults that will not get involved in a variety of subjects if it was not for their children bringing it into their home. An example of that is recycling. I have seen many of my friends begin to recycle, due to their children's school doing a drive or a project at their school to promote it. So it definitely should.

This here was one adult that basically learned more about it when my son came home and had to do a report on the environment and figure out different ways to recycle things.

Tater and Trent are absolutely right; alot of parents come to this point because of their kid's schoolwork. Absolutely it should be taught in schools. Everyone needs to know that saving the earth is everyone's responsibility, be they a school kid or a golden ager.
