CP24- Two-alarm blaze at rubber recycling plant - CTV News, Shows and Sports -- Canadian Television

Burning tires. Gee, doesn't look good for the company especially since no one was there. They must be on their summer shutdown.

I used to work there, last year, before they fired me.

I guess, in a way, it's payback, to see what they've now lost. I'm just disappointed that it wasn't worse. They'd have gotten what they deserved.

OMG, I was around burning tires before and if that isn't the most toxic smell I ever experienced, it was worse that pouring asphalt. I hope the fire's been put out!

It was put out before it reached the building. If it had reached the building, that would have been trouble for the company, because most of the unshredded tires are right inside.

Actually, the shredded remains that went up wouldn't be as bad as whole tires. And I drive down that way daily and don't smell anything but stinky fish, lol.

Burning tires smell horrid! Did they ever find out what started the fire? It seems like just a cigarette thrown into it wouldn't start it.

No one has said anything.

I'm not sure myself what would have caused it, since no one was there at all, I think they were on the summer shutdown.

There wouldn't be anything in the trucks to set them off, so I think that maybe someone got in and did something.

Let's not forget the old capitalist trick of "fire damage" to bits of the business that can be a juicy insurance claim in the end.

I never thought of that, but that's a distinct possibility, after all, they have filed and claimed bankruptcy a couple of times.
