We're planning on getting a new (used) car next year

So just a quick pool if you're planning to buy a new car are you thinking about buying a hybrid? or Plugin Hibrid? or Just a normal car

Havn't voted yet as I have yet to make up my mind. A hybrid is a very loose term. i'm all for the prius and cars in that class, but a lot of hybrids now are SUVs, which to me defies the point. Sure, it makes the auto manufacturers look a lot better, but very few paople NEED an SUV. Driving an SUV hybrid is like smoking light cigarettes in my opinion, only smoking twice as many as normal ones.

Concerning regular cars, the Volkswagon's of recent years get great gas milage, especially the dielsel ones. if I were buying I would not hesitate to spring for one of those. Why lug around a whole bunch of batteries when you can get the same milage with a smaller engine and a turbo, right?
