Just curious, I got a flyer today about a dog waste removal service. They say it's environmentally friendly the way that they do it, but they haven't put any info on the flyer. Nor do they have a website that I can check. It's late so it's not like I can even call them. Any ideas?!

Putting in in the garden/compost, for me, has always been the best bet. We can use it around our bushes and trees and in flower gardens. This has the added effect of keeping some critters away, because rabbits don't want to go where they smell dog.

On some of those pet catalogs I have seen mini compost buckets. It goes into the ground and you just throw the dog "waste" (LOL- or crap, poop) and it just breaks down on its own. try here-http://uniquedistributors.com/doggiedooley1.html
I have not tried this myself. |

If you don't compost, all I can suggest is making yourself a dog poop bin then getting rid of it in one huge go. It's not the most environmentally friendly ways but it's better than using plastic bags each time.

I believe you can make your own compost with both dog and animal poop because it's essentially just a fertilizer. The only thing I would wonder about for cats is that their 'dirt' is usually covered up with cat litter so I don't know if any of the deodorants in it would be bad in the earth?
