I am curious, do you purchase or make it? I have seen quite a few sites that tell you how to make it. I have been thinking of painting some rooms in my house, I would like to try the milk paint.

I've never heard of Milk paint either. Also, are you sure that the hives are from the paint? Have you double checked every other possibility? I assume you went o the doctor, but is it possible ther was something else at the house?

I'm not allergic to anything, just the paint.

Re: Paint allergies.
Less than 2 years later, I'm painting a bit in my apartment, and seem to be having a slight reaction to latex paint.
I'm not breaking out in hives but am extremely itchy, and I haven't been painting for very long. I sure hope this isn't another allergy otherwise I'll probably have to kiss painting goodbye.

Re: Paint allergies.
Kurfees makes a popular hypo-allergenic, latex paint that has almost no VOCs or odor. EcoDesign relies on natural ingredients to make everything from oil- and water-based paints and varnishes to woodstains.

Re: Paint allergies.
I'm doing alright thanks. Just a mild reaction last time, so I stopped painting before finding out if it was going to be a serious problem.
Hypo allergenic paints, I have to look into that, it would come in really handy for me.

Re: Paint allergies.
I have problems with the smell of paint, it sets my asthma off and I can't get the painting finished. If anyone knows about a paint that does not smell of paint or is that too much to hope for.
