Liquid or powder?
Which one do you prefer for laundry detergent? Tell me why.
I use the liquid as I have sensitives to powders not quite dissolving in the wash.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I have a similar problem because the washing machines in my building are old and slow. I can see powder residue from other people's washing. I use an environmentally friendly liquid in cold water and it does the job.

I used to use the powder but that was before I had my boys. They have sensitive skin so I have turned to using liquid and really like it better overall.

Re: Liquid or powder?
It's definitely easier on the skin, I notice that when I use it. I will never go back to powder.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I use powder detergent because liquid takes water to make liquid, and I'll be adding my own water anyway. Also, I think the liquid is usually heavier to transport, lift, and schlepp home. I also use less detergent than the label says to, perhaps a quarter less, and I've not seen any reduction in cleaning power.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I always use less liquid and it doesn't make any difference.
But when you do have skin sensitivities, the powder doesn't work.
However, I find that powder does last longer than liquid sometimes.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I use a double concentrate liquid. Surf Small and Mighty... I only need a capful for a full load, works well on cool washes, and it uses up much less packaging, and takes up much less room on delivery trucks, meaning fewer truck journeys.
Works for me.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I use liquid detergent for the same reasons as most of you. I could never get the amounts and technique perfected so that having white marks on cloths was a complete nonissue so I always use liquid instead now.

Re: Liquid or powder?
I use liquid too, I didn't even realize the powder had been causing my itchy skin until I stopped using it. Does liquid rinse out better or something?

Re: Liquid or powder?
I use the liquid detergent because the powder makes my clothing look faded or ashy. I can use powder when I don't see the liquid detergent I want. Powder detergent also leaves you clothing feeling stiff or gritty.
