Is cold water laundry detergent good
I wonder this as I use it for the first time ever.
The big difference I'm finding in this liquid detergent is that it's extremely thick, not runny.
So, wondering if it will be good or not, I'm trying it now, to see what it will do for me.
I'll let you know if I find any difference.
Let me know your experiences with it if you've used it yourself.

I tyr to stick with liquid detergents if I will be using cold water.
Liquid detergents don't have to dissolve before they get to work!

Re: Is cold water laundry detergent good
Ever since I found out that I suffered from skin irritations with powders, I stopped using them. I will never go back to powders.
As for the new liquid, I don't see anything different in how it works from regular liquids. I just have to let my husband know not to use so much of it.

Yes, a liquid detergent will work fine in cold water. I have been using cold water for years and the clothes look fine. I only use hot when I need to disinfect something, like the poor cat's hair ball mess on the sheets!

Re: Is cold water laundry detergent good
But the real question is the liquids that say they're for use in cold water, are they really any better or worse at cleaning?

I think they are better... they leave the clothes feeling a bit softer, where i found washing in cold with regular liquid detergent, it could come out a bit starchy though its hard to say, it could have something to do with how i dry each time

I use the dryer for drying for lack of space to hang the clothes, and for the fact that I use liquid fabric softener in the wash, and it works better when everything is dried with heat.
It will be nice to save money by using cold water for washing.

Re: Is cold water laundry detergent good
Why don't you try to use laundry balls. These are not only environmentally friendly, but they also save you money. You can use them in hot, warm or cold water, in top-loaders, front-loaders, twin tubs and even hand washing. There is no need to use fabric softener. They are chemical-free, which makes them perfect for hypo-allergenic and sensitive skin. The pellets are naturally antibacterial and destroy both E-Coli and Staphylococcus bacteria. Since the laundry balls do not contain any soap or chemicals, there is no need to use the rinse cycle.
So they are super environmental friendly, and they are so easy to use, you just toss them in the washer and your a good to go for a few months.

I have seen ads for these and the fact that they use the word "miracle" leaves me suspicious.
What are the pellets made of that leads to the destruction of e-coli and staph bacteria?

Re: Is cold water laundry detergent good
I don't think that the cold water detergents work very well, I go for the low temp ones that need warm water, the results are quite good.
