It's almost summer, what are your plans?
Moreso, what are your green plans for the summer?
Now that it's warmer and we've moved somewhere that give us backyard access, we will be line drying our clothes. It's been a long time since we've been able to do that and I can't wait for it.
We're also going to use the car less when we're not working, things are close by so we'll be walking to them this summer.

We plan to re do our garden to make it better suited to periods of low rainfall. When it is done it will be much more enjoyable to use the garden. We will not need to use any water except collected rain water and we will create much less garden waste so we will not need to make journeys to dump the cuttings at the tip.

We might be able to have a garden this year! I'm trying to figure out the best way to water it without wasting a ton of water, though. We go through dry bouts, so I don't know how to balance it all out in this area.

We have a rain barrel so we're probably using that to water our garden this summer.

We are doing a food garden in our yard this year as well as in a family members yard who is not capable of using their garden themselves. I am hoping to have a large bounty.

Do you have grass around you?
Even if you live in an apartment, there is a type of grass that grows anywhere, even on concrete. We scattered some seed today and we're going to check back on it in 2 weeks to see how it's doing.
You may only be able to get it in Canada, but check around. Grass helps keep your house/apartment 20 degrees cooler on average, depending on how much grass you have.

Summer is here and I can't wait to make it up north to the cottage as soon as possible, I just want to jump in the lake!

We may decide to plant a garden this year. I don't know much about it, but it's worth a try. Eating your own produce is also lot cheaper than buying it, in this tough economy.
