Default shipping

I was just reading an ad that was on the home page of this website, and the company states that they have carbon offset shipping. I tried to look on their site to find more information...but I don't think I found it.

Anybody know how they would do that? And what is the process?

Maybe it's what shadowbot mentioned about companies buying carbon credits?

They would have to calculate the carbon footprint for their shipping and buy carbon offsets in that amount.

The idea is to fund green energy (or tree planting) projects--the Suzuki Foundation doesn't seem to approve of the latter) that will result in reducing the amount of carbon released into the atmosphere.
